It's Time to Quit Clowning Around
I have had it with these m#@^&()%$# clowns on my m#@^&()%$# news feeds.
I dislike these. But yes, this post is a bit of a P.S.A.
I would like to mention, however, that I have nothing against clowns. I appreciate the services they provide, in the professional sense. And I can't knock them, because well, who hasn't enjoyed (cringed gleefully) at the antics of some of the more widely known clowns such as Pennywise and the Joker?
But people dressing up and showing up on people's porches, standing there silently, menacingly (some with actual WEAPONS) for the sake of a "good scare" is NOT OK.
This started way before October too. So let's not use that as an excuse. Also, it's only just started hitting our area last month but it's causing a lot of unnecessary unease. And I'm frankly just tired of it.
I don't know where you are in the world while you're reading this, but if it's happened in your neck of the woods, I'm sure you're over it too. If it has yet to happen where you are, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before this unsavory "fad" sweeps your area as well.
And it's giving actual clowns a bad rap. Those that show up to children's birthday parties, hospitals and the like are getting a lot of negative attention, more so lately, and it's beyond the point of ridiculousness.
If people were doing this (and by this, I mean simply dressing up as clowns) because they thought it was fun or something, I could understand. But there have been reports of trespassing. Some brandishing weapons. And more.
And it's about time to just quit it already. Whatever "fun" that was planned to be a byproduct of this "movement" has been had.
Everyone's over it.
We have much bigger issues to worry about.
Find something else to do.
Rant/news/PSA post over.
Feel free to go about your day.
May it be clown free. Unless you're making a living being a clown. In that case, I hope it's full of good clowny stuff.
Until next week.
As always,
xoxo,
