Captains's Log Entry:

Guess This is as Good a Place as Any to Start...

Hey folks!

So now that I've got this blog up and running (all tweaked out how I wanted it) I figured today, the day after Thanksgiving, was as good a place as any to "officially" begin with routine posts.

Yesterday was pretty good for our family. We had had a previous Thanksgiving dinner with another half of our family this past Sunday due to conflicting schedules, but were still able to have an actual Thanksgiving celebration on Thanksgiving day. Just a small gathering of family and friends around a table filled with food and laughter but it was nice to get to relax and connect. But now, the Thanksgiving holiday is over, however, that doesn't mean we have to stop being thankful for what we have. Which is why I REFUSE to partake in the Black Friday madness, by the way.

Today as I awoke from my post-Thanksgiving stupor from too much food (it was totally worth it) I started thinking about some things. Christmas is right around the corner, man! Looking back to holidays when I was little, I don't remember things being so close together... It always seemed like it took forever for a holiday to FINALLY get here. The wait was unbearable. Now, however, it seems as though every time I chance a peek at the calendar, ANOTHER holiday is only weeks away. Too soon for me! Haha..

Anyway, getting back on track to where I was going with my train of thought; Christmas is only weeks away. Already people are flooding stores for sales and trampling each other to save a couple bucks. I never liked the idea of rushing around trying to find "a steal". When I shop, I'm one of those who actually pays attention to what I'm buying-not just whether it's on sale... Besides, I take too long to make a decision sometimes. And end up missing out on saving those precious couple of bucks. Don't get me wrong, I like saving money as much as the next guy. It just doesn't do the spirit of Christmas much justice in my opinion.

And let's not get started on New Year's yet...

Enjoy the warmth and love of the holidays everyone!

xoxo,

LittleGypsyRed
